They are as thin as a few hair strands and placed just under the skin. Some people feel a warm or tingling sensation upon insertion. Are the needles safe?

Yes! All needles are sterile and approved of by the FDA. They are used once and disposed of in the sharps container. In fact, acupuncture is a very safe practice. Liability insurance for most acupuncturists runs under $1000 per year. Licensed acupuncturists get extensive training in safe needling techniques before they can graduate.
