Not Just For Pain Relief
Acupuncture is one of the oldest forms of healing known to mankind. Although it is primarily known for its treatment of pain in the west, this is only a small representation of acupuncture's powerful healing effects. The range of conditions which acupuncture can address is much wider because of its inherent capacity to restore the body's own healing capacity. Acupuncture is a safe and effective medicine when used alone or as a complement to western medicine. Most patients see resolution of their symptoms after only a few treatments and improvements in overall health in a short period of time.
How Acupuncture Works
Acupuncture works by stimulating and supporting the body’s own healing mechanisms. Often our biological systems become disrupted by various factors such as stress, anxiety, poor sleep and diet, toxins in the environment or even trauma. Acupuncture treatments work to restore the homeostasis in the body by treating the root of the problem and treatments will help the body return to a place of optimal functioning.
Acupuncturists use very fine sterilized and disposable needles which are inserted into specific points along channels to stimulate movement or Qi (pronounced "chee") in the body. The size of most needles are similar to a single strand of hair and do not hurt upon insertion. Each treatment is created uniquely according to each patient’s particular needs.
